Stewardship

How ESGR Framework is governed, maintained, and evolved.

Purpose

ESGR Framework exists to define responsible limits for human state systems.

It is not designed to expand, accumulate features, or become a certification authority.

Its purpose is clarity through constraint.

Independence

ESGR Framework is:

  • Non-commercial — not affiliated with any single product, company, or commercial interest
  • Non-medical — explicitly outside the scope of diagnosis, treatment, or clinical care
  • Independent — maintained as a reference framework, not as a standard body

No entity owns ESGR Framework. No entity may claim exclusive alignment or certification.

Update Policy

ESGR Framework evolves through:

  • Clarification — making existing definitions more precise
  • Boundary-setting — explicitly excluding new misuse patterns
  • Correction — fixing errors or ambiguities

ESGR Framework does not evolve through:

  • Expansion of scope
  • Addition of new constructs without removal of others
  • Accommodation of commercial or marketing requests

Clarification over expansion.

Versioning

ESGR Framework uses semantic versioning:

  • Major version (v2.0) — significant restructuring or boundary changes
  • Minor version (v1.1) — clarifications, corrections, additional guidance
  • Patch version (v1.0.1) — typo fixes, formatting changes

Current version: v1.0

Principles for Long-Term Integrity

  1. No outcome promises — The framework must never imply that alignment guarantees results
  2. No certification language — "ESGR-certified" or similar claims are not authorized
  3. No commercial endorsement — The framework does not endorse products, services, or implementations
  4. No medical creep — The non-medical boundary must remain absolute
